Once you've deleted the document it's gone unless someone opted to add it to their drive or made a copy while it was public. It is also possible that someone using a sync app could have a copy on their local drive. If you used the public option but did not share with anyone specifically it is unlikely that someone was able to discover the document on their own. Personally I've never really seen Google Drive files (or Docs)ing up in search results but honestly the answer to your question depends on a lot of variables I don't have knowledge of.
